The Mercy of the Wicked

Posted on 04 December 2009

Watch how he treats his kids,
his wife, his slave, his beast;
watch him wink with his eyes
when he sits with his friends at the feast

See how he beats his horse
and keeps his dog from drink;
look at the books he reads
and discern the way he thinks;

Consider the things he approves
and those he considers his tool;
then ponder the ways of the righteous;
the mercy of the wicked is cruel

(from Proverbs 12:10)
