I Can Dream

Posted on 22 August 2009

There’s a time long ago,
way back in my mind
but it’s so long ago
I think I’ll never find

That place where there was peace
that place where there was love
that place were there was joy
like heaven up above

But I can dream, I can dream
I can dream of that place
I can dream, I can dream
I can dream, face to face

And now I’m getting old
and every day I see
a world out of control
try to capture me

It wants to rule my life
and tell me how to think
destroys all I know;
the water I drink

But I can dream, I can dream
I can dream of that place
I can dream, I can dream
I can dream, face to face

Listen, listen to the earthquake
listen to the sun
Listen, listen to the honeybee,
he’s not the only one

Listen, listen to the river
and the ocean
Listen, listen to the prophet,
he serves the Only One

Oh, oh no… Oh, oh no!
Oh, oh no… Oh, oh no!

There’s a time long ago,
way back in my mind
but it’s so long ago
I think I’ll never find
